Institution Access
A comment set’s institution identity is defined by user selection when the set is created. The assigned institution cannot be changed later.
Comment sets without an institution can be viewed and activated/deactivated regardless of institution access.
Location Assignment
Each location can only be assigned to one comment set for a specific device type.
When assigning locations, users can select a location that is already assigned to another comment set. The location will be unassigned from the other comment set.
Ordering
The comments in a comment set can be reordered. When uploading the comment list to a device, this will determine the display order on the device. Not all device types support comment ordering.
Default Sets
Each institution has a default comment set. Locations not specifically assigned to a comment set will use their institution’s default set.
Default sets are from the legacy system. They are read only, cannot be edited, and cannot be deactivated.
Adding
Comment sets can be manually added for device types that support comments. See Add Fields for more information.
Editing
All comment sets can be edited, except for:
- default comment sets; and
- comment sets without an institution.
See View or Edit Details Fields for more information.
Cloning
Comment sets can be cloned. All values will be automatically copied from the cloned comment set, except:
Field | Notes |
---|---|
Name | You will be prompted to enter a new one |
Institution | You will be prompted to enter a new one |
Locations | Defaults to no assigned locations |
Active | New comment sets will be created as active |
Deactivating or Deleting
Comment sets can be deactivated.
When a comment set is deactivated, all locations will be unassigned. A deactivated comment set can be reactivated, but the assigned locations will not be restored.
Default comment sets cannot be deactivated.
Comment sets without an institution can be activated/deactivated regardless of institution access.
