Download Points
The RALS™ SYSTEM provides the ability to configure download points for devices. A download point can be one of three types: Network, Serial, or Workstation.
A download point is an association between a network address and a RALS™ SYSTEM location. When a device is downloaded, if the transmission comes from a known download point, then that download point’s assigned location will be used as the device’s download location.

Serial | Used for devices that connect to a computer/workstation via a serial connection |
Workstation | Computer serving as a connector for serial devices |
Last Ping Status
RALS™ SYSTEM will regularly attempt to ping network points. The following last ping statuses are applicable to network download points:
Icon | Status | Notes |
---|---|---|
Success | Indicates that a response was received from the last ping | |
No Response | Indicates that a response was NOT received from the last ping |
Institution Access
A download point’s institution identity is defined by user selection when the download point is created.
Adding
Download points can be added.
Editing
Download points can be edited.
