Evaluation Criteria Sets

Evaluation criteria defines how to assign flags to results and result values during the evaluation process. Results that fail the selected criteria are flagged. Evaluation criteria is not supported by all device types.

Institution Access

The institution for an evaluation criteria set is defined by user selection when the set is created. The assigned institution cannot be changed later.

Location Assignment

Each location can only be assigned to one evaluation criteria set for a given device type.

When assigning locations, users can select a location that is already assigned to another evaluation criteria set for a given device type. That location will then be unassigned from its previous evaluation criteria set.

Locations not assigned to any set will use the default set.

Default Sets

Each device type that supports evaluation criteria will have its own default set. Default sets cannot be edited or deleted. Locations not specifically assigned to evaluation criteria will use their institution’s default evaluation criteria.

Adding

Evaluation criteria sets can be added for device types that:

• are enabled in the system; and
  
• support evaluation criteria.

Editing

Evaluation criteria sets can be edited, except for default sets. See View or Edit Details Fields for more information.

Cloning

Evaluation criteria sets, including default sets, can be cloned. All values will be copied, except:

Deactivating or Deleting

Evaluation criteria sets can be deleted. Once deleted, an evaluation criteria set cannot be restored. Default evaluation criteria sets cannot be deleted.

Disabled Flags

For a given non-MTE quantitative parameter (supports patient ranges) within an evaluation criteria set, the following flags can be disabled:

• Outside Reportable Range (Low)
  
• Outside AMR (Low)
  
• Critical Value (Low)
  
• Critical Value (High)
  
• Outside AMR (High)
  
• Outside Reportable Range (High)
  

A result will not be given a specific result flag if all the result values for that result that would have produced the result flag have that result flag disabled. For example, if the Critical Value (High) flag is disabled for eGFR, and the eGFR result value is the only value that would have produced the Critical Value (High) flag, then the result will not be flagged Critical Value (High).

If there is another result value, for example PCO2, that is also Critical Value (High) but does not have the Critical Value (High) flag disabled, then the result will be flagged Critical Value (High).
