Specimen Sites
A specimen site refers to the anatomical location from which the specimen type is collected in point-of-care testing. The RALS™ SYSTEM provides the ability to capture specimen sites through results.

Institution Access
Specimen sites are a system-wide resource without any institution identity.
Adding
Specimen sites can be added.
Editing
Specimen sites can be edited.
Cloning
Specimen sites can be cloned. All values will be copied except:
Field | Notes |
---|---|
Active | Will be set to true, even if cloned from a deactivated specimen site |
Name | User is prompted to enter a new one |
Code | User is prompted to enter a new one |
LIS Name | If existing, pre-populated from original record |
Deactivating or Deleting
Specimen sites can be deactivated.

When viewing specimen sites in a data table, the fields are defined as follows:

Active | Indicates whether the specimen site is currently active in RALS™ SYSTEM |
Name | Name associated with the specimen site |
Code | Abbreviated ID for the specimen site |
LIS Name | LIS Name is the value sent outbound as the specimen site |
