Select Source

When importing flag configurations, the following fields allow the destination RALS™ SYSTEM to connect to the remote source RALS™ SYSTEM:

Select Data

After the destination RALS™ SYSTEM has connected to the remote source RALS™ SYSTEM, the flag configurations available for import will be displayed in a table. You can filter, sort, select, and de-select flag configurations in this table. Selected flag configurations will be processed for import.

Select Mappings

For each institution in the source system that corresponds to a selected flag configuration, you need to select a mapping for the destination system. Newly added flag configurations are mapped to the selected institution, while updated flag configurations maintain the institution selected in the destination system.

Review Import

Prior to import, you can review flag configurations import information, including:

All selected flag configurations, including configurations that will be imported and configurations that will not be imported, will be displayed in the TSV file for your reference.

General Rules of Migration Import

During the import, the RALS™ SYSTEM will import the values from the remote source system into the destination system.

Uniqueness of a flag configuration is determined by the flag configuration name (case insensitive), device type, institution, and default value. When there is no match, it is considered a new flag configuration which will be added to the destination system. When an existing flag configuration is updated in the destination system, the values will be updated from the source system. The institution and location assignments in the destination system for an existing flag configuration will remain the same if there is an exact match between name, device type, institution, and default value. When there is an exact match between name, device type, and default value, but not institution, the RALS™ SYSTEM will then use the mapped institution in the Select Mapping step to see if there is a match. If there is a match, the values from the remote source system will be updated on the destination system for the matched flag configuration.

It is recommended that you enable the relevant device types in the destination system before importing. A device type does not need to be enabled in the destination system in order for the import to occur. However, if the device type is not enabled, you will be unable to see the flag configuration until you enable the device type.

The RALS™ SYSTEM does not support importing flag configurations for configurable device drivers. If a selected flag configuration cannot be imported, then an error will be included in the debug log.
