Orders
Orders data are received from the inbound hospital system and cannot be created manually in the RALS™ SYSTEM. Orders will exist in the RALS™ SYSTEM if an inbound orders feed has been configured. This data is read-only in the RALS™ SYSTEM and must always be associated with a patient.

Statuses
An order can have the following statuses:
Status | Description |
---|---|
A | Some, but not all, results available |
CA | Order was canceled |
CM | Order is completed |
DC | Order was discontinued |
ER | Error, order not found |
HD | Order is on hold |
IP | In process, unspecified |
RP | Order has been replaced |
SC | In process, scheduled |
Control Codes
An order can have the following control codes:

CA | Cancel order request |
OC | Order canceled |
DC | Discontinue order request |
OD | Order discontinued |
HD | Hold order request |
OH | Order held |
RL | Release previous hold |
OE | Order released |
XO | Change order request |
XX | Order changed unsolicited |
SC | Status changed |
Institution Access
An order’s institution identity is defined by the order’s institution. The institution is automatically determined by the order’s corresponding event received from the inbound hospital system.
Adding
Orders cannot be added manually.
Editing
Orders can be edited.
Cloning
Orders cannot be cloned.
Deactivating or Deleting
Orders cannot be deactivated or deleted.

When viewing patient orders in a data table, the fields are defined as follows:

Pending | An order is pending if it is not associated with a result AND Control Code is NW, RL, OE, or SC |
Patient | Patient associated with the order |

Episode | Identifier received from inbound hospital system |
Visit | Identifier received from inbound hospital system |
HIS Panel Code | Universal Service ID from the ordering system |
HIS Panel Name | Panel name from the ordering system |
Control Code | Control code received from inbound hospital system; see Control Codes for more information |
Status | Status of the order; see Statuses for more information |
Ordering Doctor | Physician associated with the order |
Clinical Information | Relevant clinical information for the order |
Priority | Priority received from inbound hospital system |
STAT | An order is STAT if priority is “S” |
Start Time | Start time received from inbound hospital system; if multiple time zone support is enabled, this is relative to your time zone preference |
End Time | End time received from inbound hospital system; if multiple time zone support is enabled, this is relative to your time zone preference |
Last Updated Time | Last time an update was made to the order in the RALS™ SYSTEM; if multiple time zone support is enabled, this is relative to your time zone preference |
Matched Time | Indicates when the order was matched to a result in the RALS™ SYSTEM; if multiple time zone support is enabled, this is relative to your time zone preference |
Institution | Institution in the RALS™ SYSTEM corresponding to the Facility Code received from the inbound hospital system |
Fulfilled by Results | Lists one or more results matched to the order |
View or Edit Details Fields
When viewing or editing patient order details, the fields are defined as follows:
