Database Maintenance Tasks

The RALS™ SYSTEM provides the ability to view the schedule for database maintenance tasks. In addition, a support user can manage the scheduling of database tasks, and execute the tasks ad-hoc. The default Database Maintenance System View displays the database maintenance task records.

Database Maintenance Task Execution

Database maintenance tasks are set up by default in the system, and are automatically executed at a pre-defined time. Database maintenance tasks cannot be cloned, and include the following tasks:

Some of the purge tasks must be enabled in the Purge System Settings to ensure execution. See Purge System Settings for more information.

Database Health Check Task

The Database Health Check tasks periodically monitor and update database health statuses for the following databases:

Institution Access

Database maintenance tasks are a system-wide resource without any institution identity.

View or Edit Details Fields

When viewing database task details, the fields are defined as follows:

Schedule
Automatic Execution When checked, the task will automatically be executed
Due Time Date and time task is scheduled to be executed
Repeats Indicates how often a task schedule repeats
Interval The time that the RALS™ SYSTEM will add to the due date or completion date after completion of a task to calculate the task’s next iteration’s due date
Repeats Based On Execution of task based on due time or completion time
Notes
Notes Open text field that can be used at your discretion
