Preferences
You can set preferences for how the RALS™ SYSTEM displays certain data. These preferences apply only to the currently logged-in user and do not impact overall system functionality.
Culture
Culture can be set to the system default or selected from a list of cultures installed on the system. When you change your culture, the preference is reflected in your Operator details. Once selected, the RALS™ SYSTEM will display text and numbers based on the chosen culture.
Time Zone
If support for multiple time zones is enabled, you can select one of the following time zone options for viewing times throughout the RALS™ SYSTEM:
- A specific time zone – displays times in the selected time zone
- Browser time – displays times using the time zone from your computer’s operating system
- Home location time – displays times using the time zone associated with the operator’s home location
When you change your time zone, the preference is reflected in your operator details, and the current time in your selected time zone is displayed on the RALS™ SYSTEM toolbar. Most times will automatically display in that time zone format. However, when a date or time is relative to another context/entity, it will not be adjusted for your time zone preference. For instance, dates on operator certifications are not adjusted when displayed in the RALS™ SYSTEM. Instead, they are adjusted when used within the context of a device (e.g., uploading operators or evaluating a result).
A time zone can also be assigned to operators when performing an operator import. Import for more information.
If your selected time zone preference becomes invalid (e.g., Microsoft no longer supports it), you will be prompted to select a new one upon login.
Time Format
You can select one of the following time formats for viewing times throughout the RALS™ SYSTEM:
- Use Cultural Default
- 12 Hour
- 24 Hour
When you change your time format, the preference is reflected in your Operator details. Once selected, all times in the RALS™ SYSTEM will display in the format that you selected. When Use Cultural Default is selected, then times will be displayed based on the preferred format of your culture.
Time format can be assigned to operators when performing an operator import. See Import for more information.
Include Deactivated Records in Filters
You have the option to include deactivated records in data table filters. When enabled, deactivated records will appear in filters with red text. When disabled, deactivated records will be excluded from filters. When a new operator is added, deactivated records will be enabled by default.
System Institution Filter
You can temporarily restrict the data displayed in RALS using system-wide filters. When one or more institutions are selected, then only data from those institutions will be displayed throughout the system.
System Device Type Filter
You can temporarily restrict the data displayed in RALS using system-wide filters. When one or more device types are selected, then only data from those device types will be displayed throughout the system.
System Certification Group Filter
You can temporarily restrict the data displayed in RALS using system-wide filters. When one or more certification groups are selected, then only data from those certification groups will be displayed throughout the system.
Only displayed if Certification Groups are enabled; see Certification Groups for more information.
Default Data Table Striping
You may select a default for data table striping from the following list:
- None
- Alternating
When Alternating is selected, data tables throughout the RALS™ SYSTEM will display rows with alternating stripes.
Note: Default data table striping only applies when users have not configured a specific striping option for an individual display view.
Expand Menu
You have the option to default the navigation menu to its expanded state. By default, navigation menu is collapsed (icons only).
