Cloud Configurations
Cloud configurations act as the conduit for bidirectional data flow between a client’s on-premise network and RALS™ SYSTEM’s Abbott Cloud Hosted Environment. See Cloud Network Extension for more information.

Fields
Institution Access
Cloud configurations are a system-wide resource without any institution identity.
Adding
Cloud configurations can only be added after pairing a client for cloud network extension application. See Pairing a Client for more information.
Editing
Cloud configurations can only be edited by support operators. CNE Client and Server are updated when changes in the associated cloud configuration occurs i.e. changes in the number of connections per cloud configuration or changes in the fields of a connection.
Cloning
Cloud configurations cannot be cloned.
Deactivating or Deleting
Cloud configurations can only be edited by support operators. When an active cloud configuration is deactivated, all associated connections will be automatically disconnected. See Abbott Cloud Hosted Environment’s Statuses for more information.
Cloud Connections
Cloud connections serve as distinct channels for cloud configurations. A single cloud configuration can encompass multiple cloud connections. See Cloud Connections for more information.
Fields
Cloud configurations fields are located in the following places in the RALS™ SYSTEM:
Data Table Fields
When viewing cloud configurations in a data table, the fields are defined as follows:
Field | Notes |
---|---|
General | |
Key | Unique identifier |
Active | Indicates whether the cloud configuration is currently active in the RALS™ SYSTEM |
Configuration Name | Name associated with the cloud configuration; configuration name is automatically assigned the same value as the Client ID once pairing a client is successful |
Client ID | Cloud network extension client ID; see Pairing a Client for more information |
Connections | |
Connection Name | Name associated with the cloud connections |
Source Port | Port where the cloud network extension application is listening for HL7 messages |
Source | Indicates whether the HL7 messages are originating from a client or server; server refers to RALS™ SYSTEM’s Abbott Cloud Hosted Environment and client refers to a customer’s on-premise network |
Target Endpoint | Indicates the IP address of the HL7 message’s destination |
Target Port | Port where the cloud network extension application is forwarding the HL7 messages |
Connection Timeout (Seconds) | Specifies the duration, in seconds, that a cloud connection will remain alive before it is automatically terminated; ensures that connections do not remain open indefinitely |
Notes | |
Notes | Open text field to be used at the operator’s discretion |
