Comments in the RALS™ SYSTEM define specific processing based on comments entered at the device for a result.

Institution Access
A comment’s institution identity is defined by the parent comment set.
Adding
Comments can be manually added to the the RALS™ SYSTEM. See Add Fields for more information.
Editing
Comments can be edited. See View or Edit Details Fields for more information.
Cloning
Comments are cloned as part of the parent comment set.
Deactivating or Deleting
Comments can be deactivated.

Comment fields are located in the following places in the RALS™ SYSTEM:
Data Table Fields
When viewing comments in a data table, the fields are defined as follows:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Active | Indicates the comment’s current status |
| Code | Must be unique within the comment set; cannot be edited after saving |
| Description | Must be unique within the comment set if the device type doesn’t support Code; cannot be edited after saving |
Add Fields
When adding a comment, the fields are defined as follows:

| Code | Must be unique within the comment set; cannot be edited after saving |
| Flag For Review | If selected, results with this comment attached will be held for further review in the RALS™ SYSTEM |
| Chartable | If selected, this comment will be sent along to the LIS for special processing |
| Comment Types | At least one must be selected |
Note: Not all fields are supported for all device types.
View or Edit Details Fields
When viewing or editing a comment’s details, the fields are defined as follows:
