Select Source
When importing comment sets, the following fields allow the destination RALS™ SYSTEM to connect to the remote source RALS™ SYSTEM:
- URL of the remote source RALS™ SYSTEM
- Must be the same version as the destination RALS™ SYSTEM
- Proper formatting for the remote source URL is http(s)://IPAddress/ (Do not append any additional words.)
- Operator ID and Password of a support operator in the remote source RALS™ SYSTEM
Select Data
After the destination RALS™ SYSTEM has connected to the remote source RALS™ SYSTEM, the comment sets available for import will be displayed in a table. Only the user-defined comment sets are displayed for selection, not the default comment sets. You can filter, sort, select, and de-select comment sets in this table. Selected comment sets will be processed for import.
Select Mappings
For each institution in the source system that corresponds to a selected comment set, you need to select a mapping for the destination system. Newly added comment sets are mapped to the selected institution, while updated comment sets maintain the institution selected in the destination system.
Review Import
Prior to import, you can review comment sets import information, including:
- Number of added comment sets
- Number of edited comment sets
- Number of invalid comment sets (will NOT be imported)
All selected commment sets, including configurations that will be imported and configurations that will not be imported, will be displayed in the TSV file for your reference.
General Rules of Migration Import
During the import, the RALS™ SYSTEM imports the values from the remote source system into the destination system.
Uniqueness of comment sets is determined by the comment sets name (case insensitive) and device type. When there is no match between the source system and the destination system, it is considered a new comment set which will be added to the destination system. When an existing comment set is edited in the destination system, the values will be updated from the source system. However, the institution and location in the destination system will remain the same. When a comment is only on the destination system and not on the remote source system, it will remain on the destination system, but be deactivated. If the same comment code exists in both the source system and destination system for the same device type, the destination comment is updated with the source value.
It is recommended that you enable the relevant device types in the destination system before importing. A device type does not need to be enabled in the destination system in order for the import to occur. However, if the device type is not enabled, you will be unable to see the comment set until you enable the device type.
In specific scenarios, comment sets will not be imported. The RALS™ SYSTEM does not support importing comment sets for configurable device drivers or default comment sets. When there is a match on comment set name and device type between the source and destination, but a mismatch on institution, the comment set will not be imported. If a selected comment set cannot be imported, then an error will be included in the debug log.
