Devices represent real-world instruments connected to the RALS™ SYSTEM. For many device types, the RALS™ SYSTEM is able to automatically capture and store information about those devices when they communicate with the system.

Device Statuses

Device Status is indicated by an icon in the download time column:

Icon Notes
Device has not downloaded in the last 24 hours
Device does not have an assigned location
Device downloaded in the last 24 hours
Device does not download into the RALS™ SYSTEM

Note: These statuses are based on the server’s time regardless of whether multiple time zone support is enabled.

Device Settings

Device settings are supported for some device types.

External Sites

Links to external sites are supported for some device types.

Institution Access

A device’s institution identity is its assigned location’s parent institution.

Adding

Devices can only be added for enabled device types. Devices are automatically added when they communicate with the RALS™ SYSTEM. Devices can also be manually added for most device types.

Editing

Devices can be edited.

Cloning

Devices cannot be cloned.

Deactivating or Deleting

Devices can be deactivated.

Device Actions

The following actions are supported for some devices types:

Send All Results

The Send All Results action sends all results stored on the device to the RALS™ SYSTEM.

Sync Devices

The Sync Devices action updates non-result data on the device (operators, patients, etc.).

Delete Memory

The Delete Memory action deletes non-result data from the device (operators, patients, etc.).

Request Configuration

The Request Configuration action requests the device’s current configuration.

Request Log

The Request Log action requests the device’s error log.

Data Table Fields

When viewing devices in a data table, the fields are defined as follows:

General
Key Unique identifier
Active Indicates device’s current status
Assigned Indicates if device is assigned
Assigned Institution Parent institution of the device’s assigned location
Assigned Location Location used for results from this device; if multiple time zone support is enabled, the device will inherit this location’s time zone
Device Event Count Quantity of device events that have been recorded for the device
Device Type Type of device
Download Location Where the device was last downloaded
Download Time Device’s most recent download time; if multiple time zone support is enabled, this is relative to your time zone preference
ID Device’s unique identifier
Licensed Indicates whether the device is licensed in the RALS™ SYSTEM
Name Device’s name

Device Status Status information sent by some device types
Firmware Version Last known software version of device
Hardware Version Last known hardware version of device
IP Address Last known IP address of device
MAC Address Device’s hardware MAC address
OS Patch Last known security patch applied to device’s operating system
OS Version Last known operating system version of device
Time Zone Time zone of data manager device
Device Data Manager Reference to device’s data manager
Inspection
In Service Date the device became available for use; displayed as entered by the user, regardless of whether multiple time zone support is enabled
Last Inspection Date the device was last inspected; displayed as entered by the user, regardless of whether multiple time zone support is enabled
Next Inspection Date the device will next be inspected; displayed as entered by the user, regardless of whether multiple time zone support is enabled

Notes Open text field that can be used at your discretion

When viewing or editing device details, the fields are defined as follows:

Results Location Allows download location to be used as the location for results from i-STAT® 1 devices only
Download Time Device’s most recent download time; if multiple time zone support is enabled, this is relative to your time zone preference
