Evaluation Criteria and Flags
How do I make the second result in a series of repeats automatically cross to my LIS?
In the evaluation criteria set, you will need to check the box next to ‘Evaluate Repeat Tests’ and enter the number of minutes under ‘Repeat Interval’. Below that you would check the box next to ‘Release Most Recent Repeat to LIS’.
Next, in your flag configuration, you will need to check the box under ‘Hold for Evaluation’ for the Repeated Test flag. This would allow the first results in a series of repeats to be held and the second to be released to your LIS.
What are Flag Configurations used for?
Evaluation criteria and flag configuration work hand in hand with each other:
- The evaluation criteria allows you to set up conditions for which the RALS™ SYSTEM will place flag on the results if the results fall outside the criteria.
- The flag configuration allows you to determine which flags cross over to the LIS without review and which results with flags are held for review as flagged results. The flag configuration also allows for location and device specific sets.
If comments are held for evaluation in my flag configuration, will all results with comments be flagged for review?
No, only comments that have been marked as ‘Flag For Review’ in the Comment Set will be held for review. The results with comments will cross to your LIS unless the result is flagged for another reason OR the Patient ID is incorrect and the result fails the upload.
How does the RALS™ SYSTEM determine if a material or certification is expired when flagging results?
When flagging results for an Expired Material or Uncertified Operator, the date when the result was created is used. If support for multiple time zones is enabled, the device’s time zone is used.
