Institution Access
A location’s institution identity is defined by its parent institution, which is immutable.
Certification Group Access
Locations do not have a certification group identity; see Certification Group Access for more information.
Adding
Locations can be added.
Editing
Locations can be edited.
Cloning
Locations can be cloned. All values will be automatically copied from the cloned location, except:
Field | Notes |
---|---|
Name | You will be prompted to enter a new one |
Certification Group | Certification groups which are deactivated or are outside the user’s certification group access will be displayed, but must be changed before the clone can be completed; only displayed if certification groups are enabled; see Certification Group for more information |
Active Status | New locations will be created as active |
LDAP Alias | No user input is needed |
Time Zone | User is prompted to enter a new one, if multiple time zone support is enabled |
Deactivating or Deleting
Locations can be deactivated. A deactivated location can be reactivated.
ADT Mapping
To assist with managing patient lists for hospitals that use an ADT system, a location can either be mapped to a parent location, or it can be a parent to one or more child locations.
A RALS™ SYSTEM location can also be mapped to one or more of a hospital’s ADT units. For more information about ADT units, see ADT Units.
Parent/Child Locations
When multiple device types and/or devices are shared across RALS™ SYSTEM locations, users will need to manage patient lists for all devices. To assist with patient list management, a parent RALS™ SYSTEM location can be assigned to multiple child RALS™ SYSTEM locations. The ADT units that are associated with the child location(s) will automatically be associated with the parent location and the patient list for that parent will be shared with the child(ren).
When a location with one or more associated child(ren) is assigned a parent location, all of the location’s children become child locations of the new parent, and the location also becomes a child of the new parent location.
