Operators

Operators represent both:

Operators are used to manage access to the RALS™ SYSTEM and track actions within the RALS™ SYSTEM. In order for a user to log in and access the RALS™ SYSTEM, they must have an active operator account.

Operators are also used to manage access to devices connected to the RALS™ SYSTEM. They allow users to identify who performed results and to record competencies.

Institution Access

An operator’s institution identity is defined by their home location’s parent institution.

Certification Group Access

An operator has no certification group identity; see Certification Group Access for more information.

Adding

Operators can be added to the RALS™ SYSTEM.

Editing

Operators can be edited.

Operators support the following bulk edit actions:

When performing an operator bulk edit on institution access, the following options are available:

Action Effect
Add The selected institutions will be added to the operators’ access
Remove The selected institutions will be removed from the operators’ access
Replace The list of institutions that the operator has access to will be replaced with the selected instituons

When performing an operator bulk edit on certification group access, the following options are available:

Action Effect
Add The selected certification groups will be added to the operators’ access
Remove The selected certification groups will be removed from the operators’ access
Replace The list of certification groups that the operator has access to will be replaced with the selected certification groups

Note: Operator bulk edit on certification group access is only accessible if certification groups are enabled; see Certification Group for more information

Cloning

Operators can be cloned. All values will be copied, including certifications, except:

Name You will be prompted to enter a new one
ID You will be prompted to enter a new one
Password You will be prompted to enter a new one
Access All Institutions Only cloned if the logged-in user has Access All Institutions
Access All Certification Groups Only cloned if the logged-in user has Access All Certification Groups; only displayed if certification groups are enabled; see Certification Group for more information
Certification Group Access Only certification groups shared with the operator performing the clone will be cloned; only displayed if certification groups are enabled; see Certification Group Access for more information
LDAP Unique ID You will be prompted to enter a new one
LDAP Configuration
Certifications Certifications will be cloned; If certification groups are enabled, only certifications for groups within the user’s certification group access will be cloned; disregard if certification groups are not enabled; see Certification Group Access for more information
Certification Device IDs
Certification Device Passwords
Active New operators will be created as active

Deactivating or Deleting

Operators can be deactivated. Deactivated operators cannot login to the RALS™ SYSTEM and are not considered valid device users.

Access All Institutions Gives the operator access to data for all institutions; If checked, overrides institution access
Access All Certification Groups Gives the operator access to data for all certification groups; If checked, overrides certification group access; only displayed if Certification Groups is enabled; see Certification Group for more information
Home Institution Set automatically based on Home Location
Home Location Primary location associated with the operator
ID User name for logging into the RALS™ SYSTEM
LDAP Configuration Last LDAP configuration that updated this Operator
LDAP Unique ID Unique identifier used to identify the Operator from the LDAP server
LIS Memo Stores additional operator information to be used by outbound interfaces
Login Locked If checked, prevents login to the RALS™ SYSTEM
Name Name associated with the operator
Password Last Changed Time Last time date stamp of password change
Role Provides specific permissions within the RALS™ SYSTEM
Contact Information
Email Contact information for the operator; used when the RALS™ SYSTEM is configured to send emails
Fax Contact information for the operator
Phone Contact information for the operator

Diploma ID Contains a value if a Diploma exists

Time Zone This time zone will be used to display dates and times when this operator is logged into the RALS™ SYSTEM

Recertification Set Execution Attempts Displays all recertification set execution attempts for the operator if the logged-in user has Recertification Read permission and if at least one device type that supports recertification is enabled; see for Attempts more information
Results
Results Fields Displays all results run by the operator if the logged-in user has Results Read permission; see Results - Data Table Fields for more information
eQuiz Assignments
Quizzes Displays all quiz assignments for the operator if the logged-in user has institution access to at least one institution with eQuiz enabled; see Quiz Assignments for more information
