Saved Views

The Saved View feature lets you save frequently-used filter and column settings. This is especially convenient if you need to switch frequently between multiple combinations of settings.

There are three types of Saved Views:

Note: A Saved View is not snapshot in time. It is a set of filters and column settings that will display current data.

Defaults

Each user can set a default Saved View for each data table. When a user logs into the RALS™ SYSTEM and navigates to a data table, the user’s default Saved View will be displayed.

To set your default Saved View:

  1. Click on the next to the Saved View you want to set as default
  2. Click “Set as Default”

Creating

To create a new Saved View for a data table:

  1. Apply filters and/or change column settings on a data table
  2. Click Save View
  3. Select the radio button for “Save As New View”
  4. Enter a name
  5. Click Save

Note: The new Saved View will be available under My Views.

Editing/Overwriting

To edit an existing Saved View:

  1. Apply filters and/or change column settings on a data table
  2. Click Save View
  3. Select the radio button for “Replace Existing View”
  4. Select an existing Saved View to overwrite
  5. Click Save

Note: All users can edit My Views. You must have the appropriate permissions to edit Shared Views. System Views are not editable.

Cloning

To clone a Saved View:

  1. Click on the next to the Saved View you want to clone
  2. Click “Clone”
  3. Enter a new name
  4. Click Save

Sharing

To share a Saved View with all users in an institution:

  1. Click on the next to the Saved View you want to share
  2. Click “Configure”
  3. Select the institution(s) to “share with”
  4. Click Save

Note: You must have the appropriate permissions to edit Shared Views.

Deleting

To delete a Saved View:

  1. Click on the next to the Saved View you want to share
  2. Click “Configure”
  3. Select the institution(s) to “share with”
  4. Click Delete
  5. Click Delete again to confirm

Note: You must have the appropriate permissions to delete Shared Views.

Custom Alerts

You can create a custom alert for any Saved View to notify you when there is at least one record matching the filter criteria for that view. These alerts are specific to the user who created them; other users will not be able to see them.

To create an alert:

  1. Click next to the Saved View
  2. Click “Enable Alert”

To disable an alert:

  1. Click next to the Saved View
  2. Click “Disable Alert”
