Operators

Operators represent both:

Operators are used to manage access to the RALS™ SYSTEM and track actions within the RALS™ SYSTEM. In order for a user to log in and access the RALS™ SYSTEM, they must have an active operator account.

Operators are also used to manage access to devices connected to the RALS™ SYSTEM. They allow users to identify who performed results and to record competencies.

Institution Access

An operator’s institution identity is defined by their home location’s parent institution.

Adding

Operators can be added to the RALS™ SYSTEM.

Editing

Operators can be edited.

Operators support the following bulk edit actions:

Cloning

Operators can be cloned. All values will be copied, including certifications, except:

Field Notes
Name You will be prompted to enter a new one
ID You will be prompted to enter a new one
Password You will be prompted to enter a new one
LDAP Unique ID You will be prompted to enter a new one
LDAP Configuration
Certification Device IDs
Certification Device Passwords
Active New operators will be created as active

Deactivating or Deleting

Operators can be deactivated. Deactivated operators cannot login to the RALS™ SYSTEM and are not considered valid device users.

Key Unique identifier
Active Indicates operator’s current status
Access All Institutions Gives the operator access to data for all institutions; If checked, overrides institution access
Home Institution Set automatically based on Home Location
Home Location Primary location associated with the operator
ID User name for logging into the RALS™ SYSTEM
LDAP Configuration Last LDAP configuration that updated this Operator
LDAP Unique ID Unique identifier used to identify the Operator from the LDAP server
LIS Memo Stores additional operator information to be used by legacy outbound interfaces
Login Locked If checked, prevents login to the RALS™ SYSTEM
Name Name associated with the operator
Password Last Changed Time Last time date stamp of password change
Role Provides specific permissions within the RALS™ SYSTEM
Contact Information
Email Contact information for the operator; used when the RALS™ SYSTEM is configured to send emails
Fax Contact information for the operator
Phone Contact information for the operator
Device Access Locations
Device Access Locations Locations where the operator is authorized to run results
Education
Diploma Used for recertification
Diploma ID Contains a value if a Diploma exists
License Used for recertification
License ID Contains a value if a License exists
Primary Source Verification Contains a value if Primary Source Verification Memo exists
Primary Source Verification Memo Used for recertification
Transcript Used for recertification
Transcript ID Contains a value if a Transcript exists

When adding an operator, the fields are defined as follows:

Operator Name Name associated with the operator
Operator ID User name for logging into the RALS™ SYSTEM
Home Location Location associated with the operator’s certification
Password Password for logging into the RALS™ SYSTEM
Confirm Password Confirm password for logging into the RALS™ SYSTEM
Role Provides specific permissions within the RALS™ SYSTEM
Culture The operator’s culture will be used to display dates and times when this operator is logged into the RALS™ SYSTEM
Time Format This time format will be used to display dates and times when this operator is logged into the RALS™ SYSTEM
Time Zone This time zone will be used to display dates and times when this operator is logged into the RALS™ SYSTEM
Access All Institutions Gives the operator access to data for all institutions; if checked, overrides institution access
Login Locked If checked, prevents login to the RALS™ SYSTEM

When viewing or editing operator details, the fields are defined as follows:

Operator Name Name associated with the operator
Operator ID User name for logging into the RALS™ SYSTEM
Home Location Location associated with the operator’s certification
Password Password for logging into the RALS™ SYSTEM
Password Last Changed Time Last time date stamp of password change; this will be displayed in the User’s Preference if Multiple Time Zones is enabled
Role Provides specific permissions within the RALS™ SYSTEM
Language Specifies the operator’s language within the RALS™ SYSTEM
Time Format Specifies the operator’s time format within the RALS™ SYSTEM
Time Zone Specifies the operator’s time zone within the RALS™ SYSTEM

Recertification Set Execution Attempts Displays all recertification set execution attempts for the operator if the logged-in user has Recertification Read permission and if at least one device type that supports recertification is enabled; see for Attempts more information
Results
Results Fields Displays all results run by the operator if the logged-in user has Results Read permission; see Results - Data Table Fields for more information
eQuiz Assignments
Quizzes Displays all quiz assignments for the operator if the logged-in user has institution access to at least one institution with eQuiz enabled; see Quiz Assignments for more information
